So..... Its been 1 full year since the day Boris put us all into lockdown & who'd have thought we would still be in that same place a year on..... but hey, weve got thru it. Hopefully as from 17th May 2021 we can once again open our doors to tourists Yay!! We are just a stones throw from the picturesque Country Park of Hatfield Forest! Its so beautiful, with lots for the youngsters to do including boat hire. There is a cute little Tea/Coffee/Snacks & ice cream shop halfway. The kids can find hidden huts in the wonderful forest surroundings. We are also right on top of The Flitchway which is an old disused railway line that offers a 15 mile walk that passes thru perfect safe & traffic free terrain, ideal for biking, walking or jogging This pass connects Bishops Stortford to Braintree, & The Flitchway is now proud to be called a Country Park.
If you enjoy golf then the wonderful Elsenham Golf Course, just 3 miles away is the place for you, you can also have your lunch or evening meal in the exquisite restaurant overlooking the course - and lets not forget the 1066 Hastings Castle Crazy Golf for the younger golfers!
Bishops Stortford Town (see pic) offers a great variety of different cuisine restaurants, plus there is a new bowling alley and a great cinema. The shopping is also excellent and varied!. Its a great mix of Old & New. We are just 40 minutes drive from the picturesque Historic town of Cambridge (heading North) and a similar distance (heading South) to Good Old London Town, all easily accesable by our railway network, just 3 minutes away, or Coach if you dont fancy the drive.
